Default socket-a mb with pci-e support

hey i have a 2600+ xp barton chip. my current mbs fsb is only 333 id like to upgrade to one that has 400 so i can overclock some more but i was wondering if any socket-a motherboards have support for PCI-E video cards or if theres an adapter or some sort. OR if athlon xps can be used in another socket motherboard.

thanks for reading any comments are appreciated.

I don't think there are.

Socket A was followed by 754 and then 939. It's two generations old and I doubt you'll be able to find one that supports both of those form factors.

I'm not aware of any Socket 462's mobo's that support PCI-E video cards and thats a shame. I'm not aware of any adapters either. Sorry.
Many manufacturers have jumped back into the AGP fielding newer and better video cards (7800GS) that can get you smiling and hold you over for another year.
An upgraded mobo with socket and cpu will run about $300. on up anyway.

if you want to keep the 2600, you're going to need a good AGP video card.

in my system with unclocked cpu (2600 bardon) and nvidia 6800GS AGP, I was able to turn just over 9000 3D03marks. the 6800gs is about $200 and i've heard that you can unlock an extra quad of pipelines (making 16) and an extra pixel shader (making 6). unfortunately my PNY artifacts with the extra pipes open. but if you can have the pipes open and overclock the card, it makes it an awesome deal.

otherwise i'd reccomend going with a socket 939 and a board with PCIE, its not that expensive
