Default NF7-S 2 and NF7-S version 2.0

There's plenty of talk on these boards, however, I'm a little confused.

From what I've gathered, the 2.0 is the better board. Does it always have active cooling on the Northbridge. There's some ebay sellers that claim to be selling the 2.0, but the pictures show no active cooling. so...I'm left wondering maybe they are selling the S2?

here is a link.

one with active cooling http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

and one without http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

I don't get it, aren't these auctions for the same board? Why do they look different?

Yes, they appear to be the same board. I believe when they first came out that they had passive cooling, then later added the fan later due to heat issues and overclockers. This is the same as the board I am using now, but replaced the chipset HSF and added the same on to the SB also... Great motherboard, I would go with the first one you listed

Weird. The sticker on the board says v2.0;

http://img389.imageshack.us/img389/5637/pic55q8ns.jpg

But the manual says It's for a NF7-S2G;

http://img389.imageshack.us/img389/5161/pic56q8ut.jpg

Seems kinda fishy.

think I swaped it, th eheatsink to make it less noisy, I had big zalman 120mm fan that was blowing on heatsink as well

Version 2.0, supports 400MHz and above

meh...I dunno. This is why I hate ebay. I'm going to ask why the manual says its for a NF7-S2G...

It could be that the NB fan crapped out(V2.0's are known to have had dodgy fans) and was replaced with a passive heatsink.

If it were me I'd go for the one with the fan. But all-in-all, the NF7-S v2.0 is one of the best Socket A overclocking boards out there. Pair it up with a 2500+ Barton XP-M and it'll fly!

I'm hoping that a Barton 3000+ XP that I found will test ok. For me, this will be the cheapest and best upgrade ever. I'm thinking of just getting the board anyway, and if my found CPU is bad, just buy one. It'll still be a great, cheap, easy upgrade.

Here's the problem: The manual, installation guide, etc. that came with my NF7-S v2 makes no mention of the NF7-S2G. The one shown in the auction is specific only to the S2G. Another thing that bothers me is that the v2 is supposed to come with Abit's Serillel IDE to SATA adapter, which I see is mentioned in the specs of the supposed v2, but isn't shown in the included accessories.

Ok, I actually went and looked at the links (shoulda done that right away ), both boards are the NF7-S v2.0. The NF7-S2 has a different layout of the southbridge and the IDE connectors, I had the S2 and it' very different. And if the white sheet with the jumper settings is what you refer to as the S2G manual, there's two sides to that sheet, lol.
