What bit is onboard sound?

So is a 64-bit soundcard a decent improvement over onboard sound? Would it be worth doing? I am on a budget so a Sound Blaster Audigy is out of the question.....

Yeah! ( with Audigy games will run a bit better compared to your onboard sound card )

I can't afford an Audigy.....So probally a SoundBlaster Live. That still will be better? Why will games perform better with a PCI soundcard as opposed to onboard?

It will always help your CPU. I personally did notice a slight difference, mostly in sound. Its always good to have a card instead of onboard. I also have a soundblaster live card if you would like for sale.
