I just got my nf8-v mobo for my 3400+ socket 754 newcastle and was excited when it finally got to 2.6 stable. when I went to install mbm5 and speedfan, i noticed that my cpu temp was at 115.C . I immediately turned it off and checked to make sure that the hsf was sitting properly and connected correctly, which it was. what stumps me is that in bios it tells me that my temps are 36-37.c but as soon as I load up ANY temp program, including the abit eq that came with the mobo, it tells me that the temp for the cpu is 114-115.c. I am in the process of reinstalling windows and trying to see if that makes a difference but if anyone knows what could be the cause it would be greatly appreicated.

What bios are you using? Have you tried updating your BIOS?

I think I figured it out. MBM5 and the other temp monitors that I had installed where all rather oldish programs, I did have the latest bios for my mobo but once I downloaded the latest abit eq it seemed to correct the problem. even with speedfan it is no longer showing up the insanely high temperatures anymore.....I am not too sure what happened I think it might just be programs and compatibility...but in any case it all is okay for the moment so I think I might leave it at the...until it happens again
