Learn a different language, VB is just a stepping stone imo
 .NET would be an easy step if you know VB already, C++ is the way forward if you want to embrace the inner geek, Actionscript 3 if you want to make cool stuff and make huge amounts of money (few people from proper programming backgrounds work with it as don't understand the potential, so the ones that do can charge obscene rates )

__________________Seriously, via the .net framework it is pretty easy to create simple (or even not so simple) 3d apps that have no real purpose in life. There are some great tutorials for C#, but if you looked around you could probably find some for vb.net. Or you could just learn C#, it can't be a huge jump. I've heard vb isn't object oriented, that isn't true is it?

Just to put it out there. I have decided to program a simple Hangman program that will consist of Overclocking terms and related. It will use a hangman based on the OCN logo and I will try to make it as fun as possible. It is just for me to practice simple loops and such.
