I just spent 3 hours on Open Benchmark 0.2. See first post to download.

OB 0.2 Changes
+ Settings menu. You can now view the progress of the benchmarks (will lower benchmark results).
+ Troublesome Base64 Decode benchmark disabled by default, but can be enabled.
+ Modified some of the benchmarks.
+ Displays processor information with the results. This can be disabled.

On version 0.2.0 I assume. That's pretty good. Thanks for testing! (BTW you can get an even lower score if you run the benchmark a second time. It's weird that way.)

I discovered that if you turn on show benchmarking process in the settings, some of the tests double as 2d graphics tests. I was testing this on a P4 3.2GHz with onboard video and it took over two minutes on this test alone (I had to skip it), but everything else was pretty good.

I was working on an update to this program, but it doesn't seem there's a huge amount of "want" with this program. The update would allow Linux support (via Wine), and some other small fixes.

The program pulls from what Windows gets, then calculates fsb from those stats, or something like that. Windows had the wrong multiplier, so the fsb calculation (MHz/Multipler = FSB) was wrong.

On some processors, cache is not given, either.

I've released Open Benchmark 0.2.2. See my first post to download.

OB 0.2.2 Changes
+ Added a score validator and validation website.
+ New GUI style
+ Linux WINE support (score validation does not work)
+ Eliminated of CPU information fetching: it had issues.

I'm sure AMD+Nvidia would allow you to host the program. Maybe you could even include one for the OCNix distro?

But yes, overall, people need to look at this from the perspective of a business and not of an enthusiast. I look at many of these posts and say to my self, "And that type of thinking is exactly why you're not running the business..." lol
