Default GTK Question

I'm beginning to learn a bit of Python and would like to become familiar with creating a GUI for my programs. I know that GTK is cross platform (Pidgin, Gaim, etc use it on both *nix and windows), but would I have to change my source at all between Windows and *nix if I started using GTK?

*note* Don't know how to create a GUI yet, but I just want this knowledge for future reference.

Assuming it (GTK) is decently well implented (I have used similar frameworks but not this one) you would not need to change your source at all unless you're using System functions (diff, time, pause, other platform dependent stuff).
