I'm just starting into programming not because I'm really into it, but I'm in a computer engineering course and this is one of the classes I need to take.

I was just wondering how you say the name of that language? Is it "C sharp", "C pound"? Everytime I read it in a book, I usually just skip it. I'm pretty sure it's sharp but I came here for a definitive answer.

I personally don't know C#, but if you have problems post them in the application or web coding sections and you can get some help from some of our great programmers.

definitely will...i've got some exercises to do tonight after i get off of work but it seems pretty basic right now. they just delved into a basic adding programing and circle area calc. i may need it when i get into the later chapters.

Well, I am not working on a pHD, but I write C# all day, everyday. I may be able to help just a little as well.

OK, all day may not be quite right, I seem to spend at least a third of my day here.

I'm a little surprised that you are required to take C#. Seems like an odd choice to me, it just isn't standard enough and doesn't have the pedigree to consider it a required course.

But hey, I had to learn Pascal back in school. How stupid was that? They really should have been forceing C and C++ down our throats, not friggin Pascal...

Agreed :P. I personally dislike C# but that is my fealings, not everyone programmes the same way. I don't like Java either but my university basis all there classes around it.

Yeah... I will likely have to take Java courses, which is stupid since I will never use it. I love C++ and it is actually useable in the real world.

So lets see here:
Java - I hate it, won't use it.
C++ - I love it, could use it.

...and yet I have to take Java.
