Where should I start? Can anyone help me out with this? Suggestions?

Where should I start? Can anyone help me out with this? Suggestions?
Ok well basicly all I want to know is where I should get started with programming. Now, what type of programming I have no clue. This may sound funny but someone showed me how to open a text doc and type "cmd" in it than save as a batch file and than that was a shortcut to cmd and I found that pretty amusing and I thought that it was sorta neat. So Im wondering what programmign laungauge I would be interested in most... And I know basicly nothing about any programming besides those very simple things in batch. I would like to be able to create normal programs with diffrent types of functions and such and I am asumming that is C++?
__________________PS Schools out in 5 days so i cannot take a programming classes there...till next year Also if anyone could talk to me about this over AIM or MSN It would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

so you have NO experience want so ever with programming or some sorta code?? like html etc?

right im 17 and started programming when i was 9, i tried c++ i found it very hard to grasp the concept of i tried jave, no chance, then i tried v.b6 its easy to use you have help files if you get stuck etc, im 17 and im working on a £20,000 peice of software with my dad using vb6 (visual basic)

also if you dont grasp the concept of programming with-in 2 hours of starting give up! thats a very important peice of advice,

no im dead serious;
__________________if your mind is cabable of programming then you will under stand it trust me, ive sat there 100's of time trying to teach mates and they are like ***........but ive also shown mates once and they grasped it str8 away....i grasped it str8 away

i wouldnt say you have to start on any particular one. just find you have access to and give it a shot. i'm starting out in c and i'm having a hard time grasping it but i have a hard time at a lot of things when its new to me. just try anything you can get and see if you like it. if you don't then just move on.
