I have recently started to use the google desktop sidebar and i wonder if anyone has the skill to create a gadget to monitor system temperature. There are a few gadets that monitor your cpu, memory and disk usage, but i havent seen any gadget that can monitor temperature. You can find the guidlines here: http://code.google.com/apis/gadgets/ and i'm pretty sure i'm not the only one who is interested in this.
P.S. This is only a request - it's just for fun

Cpu, memory and disk usage readings are accessed via OS api (hardware agnostic). The methods for reading cpu temps is different from chip to chip. Might be able to do it via acpi for a lot of them.
