Thumbs up [VB6] Resolution Master

Resolution Master

A VB6 Application by Jake Ewings

Hi all.

In regards to my post a couple of weeks back about help making a resolution changer program I've had some success. I made a program I named "Resolution Master" and decided i'd post it for anyone who wants it.

Disclaimer:
Resolution Master may cause hardware and/or software damage to your PC. Making your computer run in a resolution it is not compatible with can cause damage to your monitor or display adapter. Resolution Master is used at the user's own risk and therefore the user is liable for any damages caused through its use, you have been warned!
By downloading, using or distributing Resolution Master you agree that any and all damage caused by it is your own fault.

Sorry about that, it's unlikely to cause damage but I don't want to be sued, do i now?

Features:
-Can change to custom resolutions
-12 Preset resolutions
-Can change resolution regardless of administrator privileges

It's still under construction but the bulk of it is done and available for download.

Update:
If you ran Resolution Master on too small or too large of a resolution and cannot reverse it try booting to VGA mode in XP. Press F8 contiualy on start-up and wait for the windows boot menu, select VGA mode and your PC will be put into a managable resolution from there you can use the microsoft display utility or Resolution Master to put the computer back into a managable resolution.

Cheers,

Jake Ewings

I'm afraid it doesn't work for me.. Win XP x86 - nVidia 8800GT. I pick a resolution, the desktop refreshes but nothing happens.

When working, I wonder if this can force my monitor to show higher resolutions than native, but without having to move the mouse around to make it show different parts of the desktop - like my 9800pro could do.

System: It folds.

The resolutions that work are dependent on your hardware configuration, meaning some may not work at all. I have tested it on an ASUS 8800GT 512 and on extremely high resolutions it pans around the desktop.
