Default Best forum dedicated to coding?

Which forum has the best, friendliest, knowledgeable, active programmers?

I've been looking around, but it's hard to make snap-judgements. I don't necessarily want a "wats wrong with my code, help me" forum, but a place where discussion and recommendations come first and support comes second. Much like how overclock.net doesn't specialize in tech support, but has many members who give expert, friendly advice when needed.

Thanks,

Wyatt

I have accounts on both www.programmingforums.org and forums.devshed.com, both are active - and reasonably experienced and knowledgeable - communities and never have I had a question go unanswered (so far). Dev Shed seems to have a larger user base, though.

EDIT: Even though dev shed is titled "Open Source web development", they have subforums for plenty of language such as *.NET, Delphi, C/C++, as well as web-stuff like PHP, scripting languages, Jave etc., so don't let that scare you away.

stack overflow looks great, but it looks hard to ask a question like "which AJAX IDE".

bomfunk, it seems like a good forum by why not join daniweb?

I came across programmingforums first, that's all I was about the sign up at daniweb too, but I just never got around to doing it for some reason... didn't feel the need.
