Hmm.. to bad there arent tons of programmers here lol another section on the page...i sure could use the help

You would be amazed at how aften people bring old threads back, I expect that you will find some help tomorrow.

PM Mr. Smiley pointing him to this thread, he is the one getting the Doctorine in programming, he will be able to find the problem.

Strange. The program you posted in your "second" post compiles on my computer, using GCC 3.4.2 on FreeBSD 5.3-RELEASE. :/

Perhaps there are typos in the standard headers included with Visual Studio. There have been such problems in the past--I remember that I had to fix one because the readline function would not strip the ending newline character or something.

Hmmm...I dunno what to do cuase i cant compile any program...
OHHH BTW i didnt tell you
My cd came with example...thats one of them the code is perfect....
Can any of you guys reccomend another compiler for windows?

If programming move away from windows, in Linux you can find a great assortment of great free compilers, just download a Linux OS and set you comp to dual boot.

Hmm.....what would you recommend for a linux OS?
I have read a lot and dled various images...none wrok to date ....lol
I'm kinda confused on which cd images to get for my comp...

It all matters what you full intentions are on the Os, I think that Kittani is working on a Linux choosing Guide right now, just wait a little bit for it to be posted and then decide from the list.

MinGW is a native port of gcc to Windows. Dev-C++ is a native Windows IDE centered around MinGW.

You should also try uninstalling and reinstalling Visual Studio.
