Default Appraisal: 1.7 GHz P4 Laptop

A friend of mine bought a lappy for $100 from where his mom works. (Where she works, they give out laptops to the workers there, and they buy 4-5 more than employees they have. When Billy drops his, they give him another. Once those 4-5 run out, they sell off the old ones, and buy new ones and give them to everyone else. It's some medical place in Charlotte...I just know that he got it really cheap.)

He says he got it for $100, which is a good price, but I'm thinking he got it for free (since he got it from his mom) and felt bad telling me $50 for it if he knows that I know he got it for free.

Anywho.

I want a laptop, but I don't really want anything major, hell, even that's got too much balls for me. I just want something stupid and basic like a P2. What could I get if I sold it? Thinking sell it, get some P2/P3 lappy with a decent battery, and put the extra away.

Pentium 4 1.7Ghz
40GB HDD (IIRC. Main partition is 22GB, not sure about the other)
Intergrated Graphics.
256MB RAM (That or 192MB, don't remember.)
Battery, charger, all that stuff.
Toshiba.
Erm.
Battery holds an hour-hour and a half charge.

$50 is an INCREDIBLE deal, so if I'd be worth to turn around and sell it for something cheaper or not, I'm still going to get it.

Pretty decent lappy, for $50 I'd take it.
