Default Appraisal: Evga 7900GS KO

I'm thinking about upgrading to an X1950XT very soon and I'm wondering what I could get for this?

I bought it at Christmas for 180 and have been using it for gaming and whatnot since then. It was never registered, actually the original serial isn't retrievable.

It has never seen loads past 60 C as these things run incredibly cool, even when overclocked. As I just said It was overclocked but never volt modded or anything. It can hit 600/835 without any artifacts at all and then it will reach up to around 615-618mhz stable but with artifacts showing in ATI tool. However These artifacts are not even noticeable in the least when gaming. I run mine at 615 becuase of this. Item works perfectly though.

I don't own the actual box anymore but I still have the S-Video cable, the DVI adapters, and the Driver CD.

I'm thinking 130 for it shipped or so since they are new 155+5 at the egg.

What do you guys think?

You should just keep that card and save for a DX10 card. I don't think you paying that much for a new card will justify the results you'll get.

And for the artifacts: It's like Prime95. If you're not Prime stable but you don't crash in game, your CPU is still unstable. You're artifacting in ATItool but not in game; the GPU is still erring. I suggest you get it to not err in ATItool and use that setting.

I will be getting an open box X1950XT which means if I sell this card for 130 i would be paying 45 or so for a card that rivals an 8800GTS...I feel this is a good deal I don't care about DX 10 as there wont be any games that use it coming out for a while and I care more about FPS right now than some SM shadder 3.0 and whatever else.

Yea I would probably have to pay like what 5 bucks shipping at the most as I could send this thing through regular mail in a big envelope. I just really want one of those open box X1950XT's...

Your allowed to return Open box within 15 days though right? Maybe not for a full refund but i'm sure they would either give you newegg credit or at least another card if there was something wrong.

Open Box from Newegg are generally considered on the safer side. I had no problems with them (my x1900gt was open box and it is working perfectly). Don't worry about it, you're just missing a few accessories and the original box if its open box.
