It really depends on who you are selling to. A computer enthusiast like myself might pay you $180 for that entire platform as technically it's a "dead" platform. A computer illiterate individual looking for a step up from a P4 or A-XP might be willing to drop $300 on the combined setup, make it an entire PC for $500 and you can get some of your money back. Sadly hardware loses value very quickly in this business.

I'd have to agree with gomeler. Where you are selling it would have a great influence on the price. To me asking $100 for a s939 board and a $100 for the ram for a dead end system is to much. Don't get me wrong, I loved the s939's and owned several. Still have an opty 165/kn8 ultra and I love that combo but I wouldnt expect to be able to sell it for much with all the new stuff out this year.

If you want a fair idea of what the going price is for each of those, go to eBay and do an Advanced Search, and check the box for Completed Listings Only. You'll find your Opty 165 is sold between about $80-120, with an average of probably $85-90... with that stepping asking $95-100 is fair, based on current market value. The SLI-DR looks to be more up and down, with selling prices of $60-200, with the "new" boards being the only ones above about $130... so asking $100-110 would be a fair market value. As for the XMS Platinum, a 2gb kit is pretty consistent for $125-130, with $125 being more of the average fair price.

Asking people here will give you mixed opinions. As has been mentioned, most here have an ear closer to the ground when it comes to technology upgrades/developments for their systems... so an older platform won't attract as much interest, because we know its on its way out of the hot spot (we all know we want the best, if we can have it). But outside of OCN, the s939 systems are still excellent gaming systems when you have the right components, and people are willing to pay for it... they know its a great base setup for a high-end gaming system (with the right GPU[s]), and at a reasonable price compared to some of the newer options... and then there are also people who say have a s939 system with a slower, outdated CPU, and are willing to pay for a nice Opty dual-core, and vice versa (need a better board). I'd base your asking price off of current eBay prices, so long as they help your argument... otherwise, go off of the quoted prices on here. But in a nutshell, it wouldn't be far fetched to ask for $300-350 for those components listed above. At the same time you'd probably have to ask $150-200 if you were only offering them to OCN members. Anyway, enough rambling from me... I'm tired.
