Default [Appraisal] Averatec 6210 Laptop + Parts

MOVED TO SALE THREAD HERE.

I bought this laptop from a guy while I was in Iraq for $750 (5 years ago). It's the first computer I ever owned and paid for myself, and I really would like to get rid of it. It's been collecting dust in my closet for about a year now. I just don't have any use for it.

I went on a kick about a year and a half ago where I wanted to upgrade this thing, so I purchased a bigger hard drive and more RAM, as well as a few casings for it. So I'm also offering some spare parts to go along with it.

Specs are as follows:

Model: Averatec 6210 Notebook
OS: XP Home
CPU: 1.8GHz Mobile AMD Athlon XP-M 2400+ w/ PowerNow!, 128KB L1 Cache, 512KB L2 Cache, 266MHz FSB
Stock RAM: 2 x 256MB SO-DIMM PC-2700 DDR 333MHz
Upgraded RAM: 2 x 1GB SO-DIMM PC-2700 DDR 333MHz
Stock HDD: 60GB 2.5" ATA/IDE (NOT INCLUDED!)
Optical Drive: Combo DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive (one extra included with extra case!)
Display: 15.4" Widescreen XGA Active Matrix Display
GPU: Integrated 4x AGP SiS M741 Video Chipset, up to 64MB shared RAM
Internal Max Resolution: 1280 x 800 at 24-bit (16.7M colors)
Video Output Supported: NTSC
Sound: Integrated Soundblaster Pro Compatible Audio Chipset, 16-Bit Stereo
Modem/Communications Device: Integrated 56K V.90 Fax/Modem
Data/Fax Transfer Rate: 56Kbps Data / 14.4Kbps Fax
Network Features: Integrated 10/100 Ethernet Network Adapter
Wireless Network Features: Integrated IEEE-802.11b/g 54Mbps Wireless Network Adapter
Ports and Connectors: (1) VGA 15-pin Port; (1) TV Out S-Video Port; (4) USB 2.0 Type "A" Ports; (1) Modem RJ-11 Port; (1) Network RJ-45 Port; (1) Microphone Port; (1) Audio Line Out Port
Expansion Slots: 1 (1 free) CardBus PCMCIA Type I or II Slot
Built-in Devices: Speakers
Input Devices: Keyboard, Touchpad, Remote Control
Power Supply: Universal AC Adapter
Battery Included: Rechargable Lithium Ion Battery
Average Run Time: Up to 3.0 Hours (More like 45 minutes nowadays)
Included Software: Averatec Custom Utilities, Microsoft Office OneNote 2003, PowerDVD XP 5.0, Easy CD Creator, Norton AntiVirus 2004 SE (All original discs included)
Dimensions (WxDxH): 13.98" x 10.04" x 1.18"
Weight: 6.0 lbs

In addition, I have an extra motherboard, carrying case, remote, original AC adapter, and good packaging materials.

Guaranteed against DOA, runs just fine. Keyboard is delicate though, a few keys don't work now. This has happened before, so I've had to purchase a replacement keyboard (about $30, available on eBay).

It can play DVD's without being started up, and I'm willing to part everything out. I'm just wanting to hang on to the hard drives for other purposes (like my HTPC and the other for external storage).

So what's it all worth? Whole package deal? Parted out? It could make some great spare parts, or some kind of Linux system or whatever. Do you think I could even sell it? Or should I just throw it away (my first instinct)?

More pictures available on request. Thanks!

Thanks weirdo.

$90? Dang, it's worth less than I thought. I must say i'm a little disappointed, I was hoping it was worth at LEAST $150-$200.

Could I get a little extra for parts only maybe? Or probably not?

Based on the low number of appraisals, views, and posts in this thread, I can take that as an overall lack of interest by anyone to purchase this stuff, lol.

Well weirdo, if you still want it and I haven't gotten any offers in a few more days, I'd be willing to let it go just to get rid of it.

Anyone else care to chime in on the value?

I agree, somewhere around $100 shipped especially as there is no hard drive included and some keys don't work. You may want to consider selling the extra motherboard as a spare on ebay and sell the laptop itself. You *may* get more by parting but it's going to take hella longer and even then I doubt you'll get all the parts sold.

Yeah I agree. It just sucks how long it's going to take to get rid of all this stuff. This is like my Franken-Laptop. I just kept buying stuff to keep it alive, lol.

I don't think you'll get over $110 or so, sorry. With netbook prices so low (and they'd perform better than this and be smaller i might add), you're gonna have to go lower than you want.
