Need Help/Advice on Reseating x850 XT Heatsink
So i have an ATI Radeon x850 XT, it's old age is showing performance wise, so i have been overclocking it through the ATI Catalyst Control Center software, which i like very much heh.
But i have hit my limits at around 547 MHz core clock, and 594 MHz memory clock *max clock*. Anything after that and i would start getting artifacts. I'm thinking it's due to heat, correct me if i'm wrong on this, i haven't had to deal with graphics card since i bought this, and that was when it was practically top of the line.
So i'm wanting to know, would reseating the heatsink on it with some AS5 improve my temps?
Would that help my overclock?
It's not hard to do is it?
Would lapping help anything?
And finally could anyone direct me to any guides, or simply pictures of an exposed GPU, preferably something similar to my x850 xt?
