Default Pics: X1950Pro New Thermal Paste*56K Warning!*

My temps weren't horrible by any means before I did this, but I just figured heck, why not. So I grabbed my trusty phillips head, coffee filters, Windex, and lithium grease and got to work.

The Card.

The Back.

Removed cooler revealing chipset diode and RAM.

The cooler after a thorough cleaning

The diode after a little bit of elbow grease and tears.

Spreading thermal grease with my old KMart discount card

Fresh new layer of grease on diode.

...And back together again.

This little procedure dropped my GPU core temp by about 4 degrees celcius, not TOO shabby.

Nice I actually learned what kinda spreading I need to do on my new x1950xt thats coming in when I replace the cooler. What thermal paste are you using? And hey, for just randomly going in there and giving it a fresh layer 4C is DEFINITELY a good deal. Great job!

::EDIT:: Didn't realise this was 2 weeks old but atleast your finally getting the grats you probably wanted haha =)

Lol, wonder how you knew that they are used to make meth, preston?
I use them to clean of the thermal paster becuase they are cheap and mostly static free.
