Default vga cooler installation help!!!

i am putting a zalman vf900-cu on my x1950xt.

when i removed the stock cooler, there was so much #$@% grease, that i couldn't help but get it on the little structures around the processor, whatever they are. i put the arctic silver thermal grease remover on and let it soak, and i got most of it off, but theres still a little smeared on and around them.

has anyone found a way to get all the grease off of these things? any suggestions would be welcome.

oh and what are they and will it even hurt them to leave it on?

thanks!

keep taking it off, you want the best contact. use Isopropyl rubbing alcohol.

thanks guys

the alcohol worked great for the last little bit of stuff. plus it evaporates fast so it didn't leave much residue

i appreciate the tip!

You realise that the V900 doesn't cool the x1950xt very well right? It actually performs worse than the stock cooler I hear. The only pro is the fact that it's whisper quiet.

::EDIT:: Sorry didn't see your other more recent (and more unfortunate) post hehe
