Default 2900 Pro Temperatures?

Hi,

I'm trying to determine the safe margin for overclocking. What are the acceptable temperatures for the GPU and VRM for a 2900 Pro under load and idle.

10x

I don't think anyone knows yet, as AMD/ATI don't seem to have technical documentation (specifically, thermal data sheet) for GPU's, but they do for CPU's, and these docs are full of information.

Just so you know, my full load temp levels out at 71C, fully oc-ed. The fan speed goes up a notch at 71C, so temp doesn't rise all fall, which is nice. I do have a fan blowing on the underside of the card though, to keep the memory on that side cool.

10x for the info. Can you tell me what is your VRM temp when OC-ing. Mine is about them same as the GPU which seems a little hot.

What program are you using to measure VRM?

All I know is, in ATI tool, the bottom temp is 38C idle, 48C full load.

I am running with side panels removed, and the room is a bit cold, being october.

I use Riva Tuner which gives GPU, Ambient and VRM temps.

At idle, my core is 48.25C, VRM is 43C and ambient is 39C.

Does that help.
