hello people..
i got my new HIS 512GDDR3 HD2600XT card.. running vista on it.. my mother board is intel 915GAV . with 1.5Gb of RAm point is .. before installing the new PCI express card i use to use intel integrated graphics.. with 128MB shared graphics.. is there a possibility to disable the sharing of actual RAM because the new card has enough memory on it.. 512MB

+1 on needing help with this...after installing my ATI 1GB card, i now have something like 1.7GB available video memory for some reason (4.0GB RAM)
doesnt bother me but it makes me curious if i take performance hit cuz of it

not too well versed with the board, but there's generally an option within BIOS to 1) determine VGA output priority and 2) max amount of RAM, if any, to be shared.
normally under like Device Settings or Onboard Peripherals

You need to go in bios and disable the onboard video, or onboard VGA however your bios describes it.

dont have onboard video, and (almost) postive that it doesnt exist in bios...

out of the thread.. quick question on the HDD sound that SATA makes... karrrrrrrrr!!!! sound when it is seeking the data.. is that really normal.??? i have noticed this sound increasing after installing this new graphics card of mine.

There should be options for how much memory to share with your integrated video (as well as an option to disable it, which is the obvious choice!) in your BIOS under the integrated peripherals menu. The menu might be called something else, obviously, but it shouldn't be too hard to find.
