New to Overclock.net

hey guys....
lots of issues from past 2 weeks.. point after installing the new pci express card on my intel 915GAV mobo with 1.5gb ram ( and 400Wsmps with 18amps on 12V rail) its taking ages to load windows.. it gets stuck at the intel logo(more than 2mins).. even before loading the bios. wonder why is that.. by the way i use the dvi to vga adapter. before installing this new pci exp card the boot time till users window was less than 2mins..but now ![]()

Are the latest drivers installed? Is the post taking a long time or it windows booting up, this could perfectly normal because the BIOS has to do a post check for the add-in card as well as everything else.

but the POST never use to take so much time all these days.. before the new card.. that is the integrated inbuilt graphics.. yeah all the drivers are upto date..

If it is the BIOS post that is slowing it down try disabling the logo and enabling the quick boot options in the BIOS menu. This should speed it up a little.

don't forget to disable the on-board video in the BIOS. Not sure if that's the problem (or maybe you already thought of that).

Yeah what card did you install, could be under powered and make sure you set it as primary display device in BIOS and disable the onboard
