has anyone painted an ATI stock cooler to like jet black or what not?

I dont thinks it recommended that you that, since the heat from the cooler will cause the paint to melt or chip off.

i assume you're talking about the plastic covering over the heatsink? i don't think that would cause a problem. just make sure you sand it and prime it so the paint sticks on well and doesn't flake or peel.

im talking about the covers, not the heatsink.

You can get flame retardant paint, they use it on cars. I don't think it will hold up forever though.

should be perfect! i know that stuff is meant to bond with plastic, but still thoroughly clean the cover, and give it a rough sanding (around 400 grit).

yeah, 1000, 1500, 2000, whatever would be great for sanding between coats. the higher the grit, the deeper the shine!

just be sure you let it dry completely between coats! patience is a virtue!

also about 3-4 coats of clear coat will really make it turn out nice.

i might try those metalic ones. ive always seen em in blue.


but whats a good color to go with a red PCB?
