I have an x850xt on the way from Newegg, arriving tomorrow.
__________________I also have a Zalman vf700-cu installed on the 9800xt I'm currently using. Should I switch from the stock x850xt cooler to the Zalman? The cooling on the x850xt looks pretty beefy, is the Zalman gonna be any better?

I would personally fork out a bit of extra cash and get an ATI silencer, that will keep it nice and cool and it won't be as noisy as the stock cooler.
You could put your Zalman cooler on it and see if its cooler, I have no experience with that cooler but I would think that it would still be better than the stock X850 cooler.
