Default radeon x850 problem too hot! ouch!

Hey! to start with. i never had any thought of doing overclocking at all
i just started experience a performance loss the last week. Someone told me to check my temp´s and this is what came up :/

SYSTEM SPECS:

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 570J, 3800 MHz (19 x 200)
motherboard: FUJITSU SIEMENS D1826-G
mb chipset: Intel Grantsdale i915P
MEM: 1536 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM)
graphiccard: RADEON X850 Series (256 MB)
soundcard: Creative Audigy 2 ZS (SB0350) Sound Card

When running EVEREST i get theses temps on a game (..COD4)

ati radeon x850 series
normal temp: 62´c
ingame temp: 95´c

cpu intel p4 3.80 ghz
normal temp: 56´c
ingame temp: 77´C

i dont know much about theses things but my feeling tells me its way to much for both! well ok on the CPU i can figure out that i need to replace the thermal paste, that i dont know how to do but anyway...

what can you say about it? And what can i do about x850?

First things first how is your air flow in your case? make sure you have good air flow in you case because will make a sure in temps. also i would look into aftermarket cooling for that.

The x850 gets hot. That's a fact.
Check the heatsink on your gfx card for any dust buildup.
Also, you may want to point an extra fan or 2 at the x850, that will help a lot.

Keep looking around OCN, there is a guide for everything. Even thermal paste application.

Oh yeah, fill out your specs!

edit: Awesome call on checking the airflow, killin

well i dont know about the airflow. the test and still one side of the case is open.

aftermarket cooling= ?

to check the heatzink. how do i do that? cause its an big plastic thing covering the whole fan. need to remove that then?
how do i install a fan and how do i point it to the 850x . does not seem to by any space for anything in between the card and the rest.
