My buddy just picked up a GV-1000 from refurbdoc for 30+14 shipping, and shipping was expensive because it was california --> canada.

Thats not entirely true.

For example: any full cover water blocks for the 3870 wont necessarily fit the 4870. So sweeping generalizations aren't helpful.

arctic cooling VGA coolers
ones that fit are accelero s1 rev2 and the accelero twin turbo
both are good.
i would get the accelero s1 because you can switch out whatever fans you want (with wire ties!)

Just get a DuOrb, they own, my 4850 runs at 32ish idle OCed, and never gets above 45C load.
