Default accelero rev 2 vs HR-03 on the ati 4870

setup

1 120mm fan ready to put onto what what is better
3 120mm case fans
1 200mm roof fan
*case* is a antec nine hundred (im sure most people here have heard or seen the case that is loved by lots lol)

1.does the cross fire bridge reach across the HR-03 (if i fit on on both cards) it wont fit across the accelero ofc so that s up on the HR-03

2.what cools better with 1 120mm fan on

3 can i attach the 120mm fan to the HR-03? with zip ties or somthing

4 where can i buy heat sinks for the ram vfm (dunno what evr are) or so the coolers come with enough to use?

I would say the Thermalright would cool better,it has 6 heat pipes vs 4 on the arctic. But its nearly twice the price.

The thermalright HR-03 is better.

The problem with the hr-03 is that it takes 3 slots if you add a fan.

Given the layout of your board, the bottom card will bang into your power supply in the antec 900, the top card will not fit using 3 slots with a bottom card. This is assuming crossfire of course.

The accelero is a different issue. They are much narrower but they are so high, the standard crossfire bridges cannot reach over them. Unless you can find extra long bridges, they won't work either.

I'm picking up a pair of thermalright V2's. They will fit with a crossfire setup. Someone else mentioned the thermaltake duorbs. they will also fit although I don't know if they can handle the heat from a 4870 (someone here has them on a pair of 4850s).

HR-03 with a 120 silent fan (=92mm@1600rpm) scores ~33 idle and ~43 load, which I think is very nice and gives even more room for overclocking

What about the T-RAD2?

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Therm...ated-heatpipes

With some Kaze Jyu fans

http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/ac...12_detail.html

It should be slimmer than the HR-03 even with the fans and it doesn't jut out, it will cool better too.
