Default CPU Cooler project for 4870.

I made some changes to my planned modification for the 4870, changed the heatsink to be used.

i will be bending the heatpipes so that the fan mounting finned part stands straight up but off centered from the base to go around the edge of the card and dangle over the rest of my expansion slots, effectively also cooling whatever other cards i may have. i want to crossfire a couple of these modded cards, and i will be able to bend the other heatpipes the opposite way.

heres the heatsink, again image is link.

heatpipes will geta bit bent up, as much as i can without getting flatspots. they will also be heated before bending and then polished up.

also may end up mounting 90 degrees as to not cover the memory with heatpipes so i can more eaily apply the ramsinks.

ill be cooling memory chips with these:

I don't know... the 4870 has a fairly beefy cooler and the one you pictured doesn't seem to look like it would offer that much improvement over stock... I say slap it on to see what temps you're getting before voltmodding and potentially frying the card...

As for the peltier, I highly doubt a 60w peltier would be anywhere near enough to take care of a 4870

I think you should stick to stock for now. If by any chance you want to go watercooling though....

i decided on a different heatsink, i am pretty sure i could find a way to fit another even if at some weird bass-ackward angle.
