Default Accelero S1's Ramsinks on 4870 - Doesn't work

My idle temps on the VRM are 62 degrees, and at load it reaches a whooping 115 degrees!

There must be a better method in decreasing these temps.

Can someone tell me what their VRM temps are in stock? I'm beginning to think that Accelero's cooling solution for the ram is a step down from stock.

how did you find the VFM tamp? i cant seem to fidn them any way to answer your question

i have a accelero my self but i did not use the ram sinks didnt need to spend any money on more here is what i did

when you take the stock cooler off there is the fan case heat sink (silver and coper heavy thing)

then there is a big red peace of metal that covers the RAM and VRM

i left that on the 4870

and just attach the accerlo to the Core

my 4870 is now Very cool it is at 35C idle and 45C load

so it goes for me

Card-------------------
stock ram cooler and VFM cooler--------------------
accelero just on the core didnt use the ram sinks that came with it-----------------

if you wish i will take a pic of my 4870 to show this

Just a warning, you have to bend in or trim some of the fins to fit the S1 to the card as headcrabcake stated. The red heat spreader has a section that sticks upwards near the slot mount does not clear the fins without doing so.

If you can possibly show me a picture of how this is done it'll be greatly appreciated.

As for the VRM temps, you can see them through the latest verstion of Everest.

Cheers,
