Default Sapphire 4850 1GB Help! T-Rad 2 Install.

here is the card i have

and im installing a t-rad 2 with 2 - 92mm fans, here are some pics.

now to my problem, if i wire the 2 - 92mm fans to the 12v rail i get the blue screen of death on xp, but if i plug in the stock fan the card works perfect, can someone tell me how to hook up the 2 - 92mm so that the card will work and stop giving the bsod, so i dont need stock fan plugged in.

thanks for any help.

Are you not using standard molex or 3 pin fan header connections for the fans?

the fans are 3 wire, i have a adapter to connect them to the 12v rail (4 pin)

is there some kind of protection on the card, on the stock fan header or something? incase it comes unplugged.

just connect it to a regular 3 pin on your motherboard... don't connect it to your card

when i remove all ati software and drivers, the gpu works fine. so i install the driver only and the card continues to work fine, its when i install the software that came on the CCC disk that came with the card from sapphire, i start having problems.

can you just jumper the fan port on your card, would seem to be the easiest way, just from power to ground.

That may be your problem. Don't use the drivers on the disc. Install whatever the newest catalyst version is.

Yeah, I never use the disks that come with boards and GPU's, I always download the most current drivers from the website. Just use the most current drivers, and if you still have that problem then there may be a jumper or something on the GPU (not sure) or if nothing else like mentioned above, just cut off the harness of your stock fan and solder/crimp the wires together and heatshrink, then just plug it in to the fan header on the card, easy jumper.
