So I'm planning on adding like a grain of rice sized blob then spreading it, does that sound like an ok method?
When you see how small the gpu is, you'll have a good idea of what amount to use. (Hopefully)

I put a tiny pea amount on and spread it myself with a mini flathead. Then just put the heatsink on. If you didn't put that much on then don't worry about it going over the edge of the chip.

I use about a 3-4mm sized dab then use a razor blade to smooth it out with. You can get a nice even layer and it is easy to control where it goes, and any extra ends up on the razor blade.

Spread a thin layer in whole of the core with an expired credit card.

I've always taken one more step on the side of caution and used AS Ceramique instead of AS5. Ceramique is non-conductive. I'm sure AS5 works just fine if used with caution but I found Ceramique worked just fine on my 4870 and I didn't have to worry about it at all.

Does ceramique perform better than the stock paste? i have 1 lying here and want to apply it on my GPU, but need a little push. Mine is still stock and idling at 42C load 55C with 60% fan on Crysis WH. Would i get better temp with the ceramique?
