Yes it will work. I have the GV1000 (The nickel plated version), and it works awesome. I just need to get some extra RAMsinks for the VRM's on my 4870.

The Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo/S1+Turbo Module is also a very good cooler.

Although for the HD4800's I wouldn't get the Thermaltake DuOrb, because it does not handle high heatloads as well.

nope, all you need to do is unscrew a couple screws on the back, unplug the fan from the fan header on the PCB, and wipe off the thermal paste...

If you end up getting the VF1000 you should grab another set of RAMsinks, since it only comes with 8 to cover the RAM, you need at least two more to cover the VRM's.
