Well, I am not real familiar with ATI cards, but the VF700 ALCu is a midrange GPU cooler. I don't think it is up to the task though.
I know on the NVidia side, it is not up to cooling anything over a 8600GTS or 9500GT. The all copper VF700 is a little better, but a VF 900 or 1000 is needed for modern cards.

What else would I know? I was only partly in school freshman year, dropped out sophomore year, and could be a junior now.

Anways.. I tried getting to full load in Crysis... only went to 50% load, temps were wround 41C.

/downloading ATi Tool and hopefully it works fine for me.

Sounds like temps aren't your problem so a new cooler wouldn't do much for the overclock from what I'm seeing. I would guess your card just isn't too happy about being overclocked. Like I said earlier, I never did see an improvement with the card overclocked, at least not enough to make me want to eek every last ounce from my card.

Huh....

Went to lock my machine while running ATi Tool OCed... BAD idea.

Tried to reset the clocks via safe mode, no go.
Booted regularly, locked up.

Re-installed, with XP Pro 32-bit...
I shall try again sometime this week... Work ftl.

Could it be a lack of voltage?

I'd go towards a lack of voltage. The OC is pretty good for stock voltage, maybe you need to go up a bit. What you need: software to flash in Win: ATI Winflash; soft to modify the BIOS Radeon BIOS Editor (RBE). Put the 3D voltage up by 0.1V (not more than 1.365V) and see how it goes, people have been able to get past 700 with that.

use atiflash, and use freedos as a platform. http://www.freedos.org/freedos/files/ and http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads...lash_3.60.html

I'd put freedos on a cd and atiflash on a thumb drive, to try to keep them seperate. I dont like putting dos and atiflash on the same media. syntax is atiflash -p 0 (whatever you saved the bios as).bin

If you use a flash drive, to switch to it, type in C:, if that doesnt work, try other letters until one works. If you forget your bios name, while you are in the directory, type "dir" and that should list all the files
