Scythe, I'm using the Musashi with standard 100mm case fans which is 2x more effective than the slim fans it came with. Can't do that with the Accelero.

I have used both.
For a 4870 card, I think I would choose the Accelero Twin Turbo. It will perform slightly better compared to the SCVMS-1000, but also make more noise (the fans on the Scythe Musashi are almost perfect for a GPU cooler : extremely quiet and with a dual speed controller).

My vote goes to Accelero due to it having more heat pipes.

The Musashi! It looks so nice! Nice and compact!

Plus I have one the fans on each of my accelero's and they do a good job with only one fan! 36 idle and 46 load !

I have a 4870 1gb at 850/1000 with a musashi and my gpu temp while running furmark never exceeds 57c. The fans are at full, but they're super quiet anyway. I can't compare with the accelero since I don't have one, but with either of these coolers, I think the choice is really a matter of aesthetics. With either cooler and proper heatsinks for ram and VRMs, you're probably going to reach the limits of your hardware before temps become an issue...

if you want PERFORMANCE, don't waste your money - ACCELERO WITH ZIPTIED CASEFANS!!! might be 2.5 slots, but took my 4850 from 105C load down to 50C load (and OCed to 690 core and 1188 ram up to 55C load.)

ACCELERO AND ZIPTIES FTW!!!
