Default Which 4870x2 WaterBlock?

Can't decide

EK Copper

EK Acetal

EK Nickel

EK Nickel /Acetal top

Koolance

XPSC

I'm leaning toward the XPSC because its cheap, it looks cool, and I've used the brand before. How does it stack up with the others?

They all cool pretty similar

Go with the cheapest one. The EK ones are tricky to install and have had some issues due to not having standoffs.

I am going to be picking up the XSPC Razor after Thanksgiving.

I think that is one of the better ones. IMHO.

Go with the XSPC. The EK 4870x2 blocks may look nice, but they do not use standoffs for the mounting points. This leads to the shorting issues you heard about due to the video card warping similar to mounting a waterblock on a motherboard without a backplate.

Go with the XSPC, it has standoffs. The EK doesn't and has a design that's getting pretty old.

i've got the XSPC on mine... self modded BIOS, 850/1000 24/7. idle ~37°C load ~45°C

the EK's are kinda cool cuz they come with their own back plates (for the ram on the back of the card) and the XSPC, you have to use the OG backplate, but that's not a problem. i didn't even put it on there, i just used some MC21's i had leftover.

search the WC section for XSPC... i made a thread about it in there.
