Default change 4850 coller to

few days ago i swapped my old 2600XT with a new HD4850
a Club3D HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 Overclocked Edition, that uses Zerotherm cooling, but i also have an ACCELRO s1 from my 2600XT
should i put in instead of the Zerotherm?
here is a pic of my old and new card (don't mind the date)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the Accelero is a better cooler than that one. Not to mention if you have the space in your case you can mount fans on the accelro to make it even better.

What temps are you pulling with the zerotherm? If you have good temps with it and don't plan to OC it much more than it is you probly don't need to bother switching them.

My main "need" is silence, the stock cooling is 40c idle (fan 50%) 65c load (fan 100%)

oh wow.... 65c at 100% fan speed it quite a bit. My stock 4850s ran about 55-60c at 70% fan speed under load.

The 100% fan speed is quite annoying on the stock cards but I'm not sure how that cooler sounds in comparison. I'd imagine its still decently loud.

The accelero s1 is still a great option then if you want a more "silent" gpu fan/cooler. You can place a quite fan on there for better cooling still or just leave it passive (not sure how the temps will perform on passive). If your going for a quite setup then I'd toss on the accelero with a quite fan or just have a fan controller on it to keep it low. Should perform just fine.

The S1 must be a revision 2 in order to work on the HD4850. Keep that in mind.
