Question Zalman VF900 HD4870

Was looking at getting this cooler for my new HD4870. On Zalman's website it says it will fit the HD4850 but nothing on the HD4870. I can only assume the two have the same mounting?

Would the GV1000 be a better option?

I'm not sure about the mounting of the 4850, however i have a vf900, and to be honest I would not put it on the 4870. I would rather get the gv1000 because of its design.

The mounting screw on vf900 is universal and since 4850/70 has the same mounting so as long as can be fitted for 4850 , it can be fitted to 4870.

But the thing is core is not the only thing that need to be cooled with 4870. Vrm area is hot too, so u better choose a wide cooling that covers the vrm such as AC twin turbo. I once use battleaxe xigmatek, apparently it wasnt good enough for vrm..keep crashing

VF900 for 8800GT is fine but I switched to the Twin Turbo for my 8800GTS and I will use it on my next card (looking at 4870 myself)

The VF900 can't handle the heat that the HD4870 puts out, the VF1000 isn't much better. A Musashi or Twin Turbo would be much better
