You sure? If it has the AMD logo stamped on right above the PCI-E connector then it's a ref' design, and his card has that stamp (shown in his pic)

No idea why it hasn't. Edit: Ah I see what your saying, there is another set of transistors to the right of the ones highlighted. I can see the problem lol.

That picutre is one I got from the internet just to illustrate where the extra transistors were placed. Anyhow, believe my card has the AMD logo on the though, I'll check that up when I get home from work.
Edit: Like mentioned, no - my card doesn't look like that. Or, everything looks the same exept for those extra transistors whitch is placed in the area marked with read. Got to wonder why the hell they would place them there and not on the other right end of the card or something so the reference would stay exactly the same if so. Oh well, looks like I'll have to modify a waterblock myself to get it to fit. I'll try to fint out where the water runs in the one I have, it it's not in the end I need to modify it's good - then I'll proboly make it work. But still, it it's not a reference card then I don't think it should be having the same product number - since that might be confusing for some. The changes in the PCB is signinficant if you're going to do some after market changes.

That pic is a reference card, however, it is not a pic of his card :/ I'm sure he'll post a pic of his naked card when he can and then we can figure out if it's the Aqua block or the card.

I'll try getting a pic up as soon as I'll get home. It I'll get the bit damaged screw loose, lol.. Well, I'll need to replace it with a new one anyways so might as well fix that somehow.
Edit: Anyways.. if someone know of some pictures that shows the inside of the waterblock I have, I'd appreciate it. Then I'll know if it's modfyeble or not. I've tried to google after it without any luck. Edit 2: I now see that there are actually a difference in the product code for the cards, but the site I order from clearly had that wrong as well. So yeah, there are a bit difference in the product name. But still, not even (that I have found yet at least) ASUS's site there is mentioned my difference between the cards exept the fans. Well, found another page on ASUS's site where they inform that the tri-fan is a non referenced edition yeah. Still not understanding the reasons for the extra transistors thou, no obvious need to change the PCB just because they made the card with a different cooling. Oh well, cause basicly closed then he? Now I just need to modify the waterblock instead. Still interested in knowing what the supplier have to say, cause this is clearly a case of misinformation. Shurely, I should have checked up better that the card I got were the right one. But hey, I checked the page for it on the suppliers site thru the link from my order confirmation, and shureley the cards looked different - but just thought the coolers were the only difference, and the tri-fan solution seemed better - so I wen't for it. Anyhow, shouldn't be to much modification needed to make it fit as long as the water doesn't go all the way out. If it isn't I'll proboly have it done later on today. Might need to stop by at the local hardware store to buy some parts for my drill to be able to make the modification thou, but that's okay as loong as I'll get it working. Just double check that everything else is the same, whitch it seemed to be when I checked, but since there are a slight difference with thouse transistors there might be some small other differences, so best to be on the shure side I guess. All in all, I don't see any good reason for ASUS to make the Tri-Fan card non-referential just because they're relaseing a version with different cooling. If it would have meant something like noticeble boost preformance wise, then shure - but when the only apparently difference is the cooling, then no. And since they've mostly followd the reference exept for those extra transistor bastards than they messed up imo.

I have the same Trifan model you are describing and plan on watercoolng it also...
__________________I will be tearing down the trifan cooler over the next couple of weeks and will post a picture of the card "Naked" soon for all to see.. ![]() Keep watching... As i side note... i previously had the 8800GT 512Mb(g92 gpu) and watercooled that but, lo and behold had the same problem getting a full cover card for it. For the same reasons as described here... my solution then was to cut the excess off the waterblock and fit separate ram sinks for the vrm's... worked a treat ![]() ![]() Was just lucky my waterblock perspex didnt extend to the area that needed cutting off
