It is a good idea to at least use a passive heatsink solution (probly like 4 bucks) for the ram as it runs over 450 mhz (900 effective) and If your looking to overclock the card, then overclocking the ram for a good ratio is a must so I would recommend cooling for the price now to prevent it against the price later to replace it!

You won't fry it...it just might not hit as high of an oc. However, let it be known...in reviews, some find that like the stock 6800 cooler heats up the ram...they get better oc's with no cooling....

My gddr can hit 1190 stable with no artifacts or cooling...so cooling is NOT a big issue...they produce so little heat...don't worry about it lol.

In other words: Removed code is debugged code, and it certainly doesn't use any memory or CPU time; so even better if you don't write it.

Up, you mean RAMsinks? Ramsinks should cost your $10-$20. Avoid the Vantec ones, they are crap, the fins are really short and thick, the aluminum Zalman heatsinks are sooo much better, if you want the best of the best, get the Tweakmonster, they are great RAMsinks, but they are kinda rare.
