Default AC Silencer Failing! 127* Celsius!

Hi i got a x850-xt and as soon as i got it i put an arctic cooling cooler on it. Ever since then i have enjoyed a little overclock and a little more piece of mind for my 450$ baby. Every once in awhile the fan will fail completely! Out of the blue! Just tonight, i was playing and the game started to lag (a lot!) so i switched back to windows to see my ATI tool showing my gpu was running 127 deg celsius!!!!

After seeing all this i abruptly shut down pc to let card cool. 5 minuted later i rebooted and still nothing. Jiggled a few cords (3-pin fan, molex) and still nothing. After removing the card completely (and burning my fingers in the process) i completely removed the cooler and reinstalled it after cleaning the chip with arctic-clean or whatever.

Any body else have this same cooler and experience the same problems?

Also worth mentioning that i have ATI tool set to override the fan speed to 100% at all times.

Also ever since i recieved the cooler if I bump the case at all the fan blades kinda crash into the fan sorround, even the slightest bump can do it too! Anyone else deal w/ this issue?

I'm just happy she's still around.

Guess it good that it lasted over 5 minutes running over 100* celsius.... in a bad sort of way...

I will try to attach the ati tool log that shows what's happenin!

So does it work now? Somthing could have been blocking the fan blades, causing the fan blades to... NOT SPIN!!

Off topic, but you must be getting a major video-bottleneck with that XP 2200+.

yeah, probably i want to upgrade soon. love my socket a though! esp my dfi board! call me old-fashioned but i like the 1 video card thing. i hate not having transparency anti-aliasing or shader model 3 too. i don't miss those thing as much as i hate nvidia though.... not even close!

also .02 more my 2200+ is running @ 2200mhz on air (swiftech) and even faster on water... if only my multi was unlocked!

Ati tool likes to turn off the fan if you reinstall your drivers is that your problem?

Btw, Awesome temps dude lol! Mine craps out at 110c.

Ps. If in the future you want a better cooler pick up the zalman vf700-cu it is a awesome cooler. (It took almost 10c off of my load temps when I went from the silencer to it.)
