I'm afraid I'm going to have to remove my GPU from my WC loop, so it's back to air it seems
. I need a cooler that handles this HD3850 and the HD4850 I plan to get in a few months time. Right now I'm looking at two coolers:HR-03 GT AC Accelero Twin Turbo Which one would be better for the price? The HR would be nearly twice the price of the Accelero after I get a fan, so would the extra price be worth it? I mean, I don't want to spend that much only to end up 2-4*C cooler than with the Accelero.

I just installed the twin turbo on my 3870 and so far no complains. I read a few reviews before choosing, and since the price is just ass important to me as the quality, I ended up taking the AC. The temps stated by the manufacturer are a little over rated, but in the reviews you see the same results I have. (bout 6°C lower on idle and 17°C under load, i cant really say how much it does oc, cause with the stock fan i often came to close to the temp limit, ending up with a black screen, non responding pc.). So far i also pushed the gpu on it's max in ccc 885MHZ and the Ram at 1300MHz (its an 24/7 pc). I can go higher in the rams, but since the heatsink are with the sticky thermal tape I rather test it a little more before going higher.
__________________In the manual it is clearly stated that you have to use an eraser on the rams and vregs to make sure that they stick. (In a review I read the reviewer didnt do it and it definitly caused him some sticking trouble.) I did as the manual said and had no problem, the heatsinks stick and stayed sticked. One more thing, keep in mind that the AC is a big cooler. Mounted on the gfx card it needs THREE slots. So if your current configuration is tight, the AC will cause mounting problems. Also for Crossfire users, if there is only one pci slot between the 2 pci-e slots, forget about using/buuying this coller as it will not fit. (I can provide pics on pm request, but you could also goolge them lol)

I would get AC twin turbo only because it works great, it's cheap, and it comes with everything you need (RAMsinks, VRMsink, fans).
My Accelero. Sorry about the bad image quality; I took it with my phone.

The question now is if the Twin Turbo cools any better than the heatpipe heatsink on the MSI card I got:
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...AFC-C8Junction Seems beefy enough. Currently I got the card on my WC loop; forgot that I had a SB cooler in there and so the heatsink can't fit unless I remove the SB cooler, and I'm in no mood to tear out the whole mobo. Starting to have second thoughts about going air thought; the card overclocked loads at 36*C (ambient 18*C)... sweet.

I may keep it under water. Reason I was even planing to switch it to air was because maybe I could shave a few *Cs from the CPU; it currently loads at 25-27*C above ambient, which is good... for air. I'm thinking I could shave a good 5-10*C by removing the GPU, but a GPU loading 10-15*C above ambient is really sweet; doubt I would be able to match that with air, specially in the summer.
