Now HD4870 cards can get HOT, but was more than a tad surprised (and amused) yesterday when I got these temps!
![]() 7C (44F) 12 degrees above freezing! lol Had the AC unit on and the fan is at 90%, and the core did shut down to submit and recieve another F@H WU, but the core goes down not even for a minute (too short to cool a 70C hot GPU). So what's the coldest air cooling temp you can prove with your ATI card? Last edited by StarryNite : 03-22-09 at 02:34 AM |

i think something is off u cant have below ambient temps so unless u had temps in your room lower than 44f this is inaccurate.

That was a glitch. Happens all the time with every temp monitoring software around.

![]() This morning the room was at 60F with off and on AC, BTW (why I wear a jacket in this room while folding). Last edited by StarryNite : 03-19-09 at 10:46 PM |

It's impossible to get below ambient temperatures.

It can't be real unless your room temperature is like -20C.
When your GPU is outputting heat, how can it get colder than the ambient temperature?

This is the same problem my tech relative was going through, guys. He stated the exact same things as you -- quoting the thermaldynamic law even. But it took him only a day to see what I meant (at that time about heat), and he no longer argues the point! lol
It was cold in this room when I got up and came in. Not below zero (that's ice crystal time!), but cold enough that the case felt like ice. |
