Yeah, I can't exactly understand this.
I installed the vf900 and my idle was not too bad, but I didn't feel content. 44C - VF900 vs 51C - stock And then, I proceeded to load it and see if there was a difference in load temps. There was not. What did I do wrong? Pictures are worth a thousand words.

I don't think the VF900 can handle the amount of heat coming off that thing.

Hmm
My VF900 did fine on my 4850. Is your vmodded? I'd definitely start with a reseat. How did you apply the TIM? I used a little dab, no spreading.

The best you can do is try another reseat. What kind of thermal compound are you using?

The cooler that you took off was a pretty decent one to begin with. The only reason to get aftermarket would've been if you got a reference cooler.

I'm using AS5 like everyone else.
I'm gonna do a reseat sometime later tonight or tomorrow.

I have a 4850x2 and I put two vf900 on mine. My temps run at 36c idle on one gpu and about 31c on the 2nd gpu. My card is overclocked aswell so not sure what you did wrong, but I would try reseat or different thermal paste.
