i'm looking up reviews now, i'm also interested in a cooler, but for my 4870

here is an amazing price on the twin turbo

http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=FAN-TURBO

the turbo is basically the accelero s1 (which is a very good cooler) with 2 fans already installed on it

the accelero s1 is 25$ on newegg and the turbo is 24$ on ewiz...so yeah its a pretty nice deal

I had the same problem with my S1R2s, but rather than grinding down the RAM-sink, I just bent the copper heatpipe a little. Seemed to work fine for me; they're not that hard to bend a little without doing any kind of damage.

I'll tell you guys my temps in 1 week. (BLAST YOU UPS AND YOUR TERRIBLE SHIPPING)

Gonna be using the 4890 with a twin turbo, BUT i'm going to be using the stock plate that cools the memory and VRM's. Someone posted on another forum that his VRMS never got past 70c with the s1 and the plate

But doesn't that just add to the awesomeness of the 4890? Or should I say F15 eagle?

I Personally wouldn't do that, but it's definitely more economical. The VRMs share the heat into the memory and other components. While separate heatsinks on everything will cost more and be a lil more hassle, if done properly should yield alot better temps for your memory and VRMs.

Another thing. The Vitac chip doesn't have direct contact w/ the heatsink normally AFAIK. It does however need some sort of active cooling since the fan normally pulls air right over it. I might suggest putting a small heatsink on that as well if there's clearance under the main cooler.
