Does anyone know if the T-Rad will fit on a 4890? I am in need of a aftermarket cooler mainly for the quietness. I usually game at night after wife/kids are in bed but my issue is my computer is in my bedroom so the stock fan on the 4890 gets loud sometimes then wife aggro insues.

Anyways I really like the T-Rad on the site it says not yet, but if it fits a 4870 then it should fit the 4890 from what I read. Just wanted some conformation on it before I spend the money to buy one.

Thanks

I'll vouch for the AC S1R2, it's a beast, Other than furmark runs, I don't see much above 50C in gaming with the card maxed in ati autotune OCing. I've got the 120mm fan at the bottom of my case angled at it, it might do even better with the fan zip-tied to it.

MUSHASHI!!! It works really well. On my 4770 that is clocked at 915/1000 it never went above 55C! But the problem is that is too big for an xfire build sadly. Without the fans though it is just barely enough but gets too hot. Like 70C+ load

I got the T-Rad (from SVC.com for $39.99, comes with 2 fans, still a few in stock! lol) on my 4890, I just had to slightly bend one of the heatpipes because it was just barely in the way of one of the video connectors. Literally just tweaked the heatpipe with my hand to make clearance.

Sorry for no pics, don't have a camera for it right now.

Can you tell me what your VRM temps are? From what I been reading is with using a aftermarket cooler the VRM's don't get the cooling they need. There are quite a few using this but keeping the stock heatsink plate on to cool the VRM's.

Also this is a good deal the cooler + 2 fans. How loud are the fans that come with this and are they decent quality or need replaced?

Thanks

I did put a aftermarket cooler on my xfx 4890... it was the zalmans vf-1000... the vf-1000 worked awesome to keep my GPU temps down and the memory heat sinks did fine as well...

But the ZM-RHS70 i had on my VRMS I am assuming didn't do a good enough job... My video suddenly cut out.. and after some troubleshooting determined it was the card..so one of my babies is on its way back to newegg for a RMA...

I will stick with reference cooling till a PROVEN aftermarket cooler is found for the 4890s

Hmm.. Yeah I have read that there are issues cooling the VRM's which result in failure. Quite a few fourms have people crying that there card's are dead after they installed a aftermarket cooler. So I agree I will stick with the stock cooling for now till something actually is designed for this card. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks

I've been away from home so I haven't actually installed my 4890 w/ the T-Rad2 yet, so no temps yet. I just did a test fit before I went out of town. I got the iandh custom heatsinks from Petras, read a lot of good things about it so I thought I'd give it a try. I'll use a few other heatsinks I have laying around on whatever else needs cooling. So I have all that stuff waiting for me to put together.

I did do a quick check on the fans before I went out of town, they aren't the greatest fans, but they were quiet. The rating on the box (for what it's worth) were something like 27 cfm @22 dBa or so. For packaged fans, not too bad. For heavy overclocks, or if you have a fan controller, it might be worth it to get stronger/better fans. I'm personally gonna give them a shot before I decide to switch them out.

I just need to get home to my sweet, sweet computer parts!
