Uhhh, any computer component will benefit from additional cooling. Your using a 9600GT so I guess it doesn't matter but for cards with reference dual slot coolers any fanspeed 50% and above will sound like a turbo hand dryer. Quote:

The Coolink GFX Chilla will not work with this card. My friend and I tried it on his. It fits but the heatsink has to be screwed on pretty tight and still is off by a little. Full coverage of the block though.
We started up the system and it was reading 51c. Checked contact and it was fine. Stick with the stock heatsink. Coolink GFX is def a no go. |

idle temps with twin turbo =
fan:75% (silent) gpu : 38 mem: 51 shader : 40 vddc : 44/47/49 ??? slave : 62 i played civilization 4 for an hour and my vddc didn't go over 52, the ??? didn't go over 65, the gpu core didnt go over 43 this is with the twin turbo's VRM cooling, i couldnt remove the red plate it required a super small phillips head looking forward to musashi temps i'm amazed at the performance of this, considering i bought it for 24$

i'm gonna install crysis again to test the temperatures
i don't want to use furmark because it is scary ![]() gonna be turning my AC off for this test because it is going to get very hot this summer well heres an update : the gpu core didn't crack 64c, the memory however sky rocketted to 82c and the VRMS were getting to 95c...the GPU cooling on the accelero is fantastic but everything else is meh i'm gonna be installing the red plate tomorrow when i get my tiny screw driver second update : hasn't even broken 55c after 2 hours of call of duty 4

I just installed the Scythe Musashi cooler and noticed my VDDC temps are crazy high. See attached screenshot.
I don't recall the temps being this high when I was using the stock cooler. Why the sudden jump in temp?

Did you keep the stock Heatsink on? This is the main issue with these cards and aftermarket coolers, the VRM's temp's sky rocket. Not sure if you can keep the stock heatsink on but if so try it with that. Basically the sinks that come with the aftermarket coolers are not sufficient enough to cool the VRM's, which can result in failure if they get too hot.

I just rebooted with stock core/memory clocks and it seems the temps have gotten back to normal even under Furmark. Still around the ~100C mark under load but nothing crazy like 131C under load. *update* Here are the unboxing pics:
