Edit : Found some small screw drivers to remove the red plate
I wish I had a camera, I'm lolling right now. You guys with the stock cooler should take it apart...the heatsink is SO small, it looks like a little matchbox car I'd pay an extra 50$ if they had the stock plate and scythe musashi/twin turbo installed..I wish they would do that and do away with this stock cooler vacuum cleaner BS

I don't blame them because they are on a time schedule but I'm thinking, if they do that to videocards, what about laptops? Not everyone takes apart they're laptops and reapplies the TIM.

after placing stock back on, the loaded temps on ram units droped to 60~75c from 80~100c in my case.

Not hard at all as long as you have the right screwdrivers.

Ok well my T-Rad2 came today and, to say the least I am disappointed.
__________________First off to let everyone know it will "Not" work with the stock plate on. The base of the T-Rad2 is pretty flat see this picture. ![]() You can see that the heatpipes wont allow you to get that recess that is required to keep the stock plate on. I could remedy this by hacking up the stock plate but then my warranty is gone (which I don't want to do). I tried the heatsinks that came with it, and VRM idle was 70c, I was thinking that This may work till thermalright comes out with the vrm cooler. What do you all think about that cooling kit? I guess I should have opt'ed for that Sythe one instead..

I guess I hold onto it till that VRM sink gets released. Only issue with that is cannot CF with that, and I eventually wanted to CF these, so many decisions

Since the 5870 is on the horizon. That's one of the reasons why I would never CF.
