Default Idea for homemade 4890 FET heatsink

For a while now I have been getting ready to put aftermarket cooling on my 4890 (but haven't due to circumstances). I have a T-Rad2 and iandh custom heatsinks, with a few other sinks I can put on as needed, just need some TIM/pads and I'm good to go.

I've read about Zalman's heatsink. That Zalman heatsink looks like it would be much more effective than the iandh sink, but it's too tall and would have to be modified to work with the T-Rad2. Plus I don't wanna spend more money. Well, what the hell, I figured I gotta have something I could use in my several boxes of old computer stuff.

Lo and behold, I present the heatsink from a Pentium 3 - 500 mhz processor as my candidate solution for my own "homemade" VRM heatsink. I figure with some time and the right tools I can cut and shape this thing to be a somewhat similar design of the Zalman sink, but the right height so that it clears the T-Rad2. It's my first time doing something like this, so...thoughts, opinions? I will be getting started on this project in about a week, so I want to make sure I have all my bases covered.

On a side note, can someone post a picture(s) showing me exactly which parts of a 4890 should/could have heatsinks to ensure minimum heat levels while overclocking?

Blue is the RAM, yellow is the VRM.
Both need to have heatsinks on them, but the VRM have alot more issues then RAM when it comes to aftermarket cooling. They are probably your main concern, get them cool and you are good to go

Any other parts? I want to cover as many hot spots as I can with this heatsink when I design it.

Nope, they are the only parts you need to worry about cooling..VRM's especially.

Also note, that not all cards have the VRM's in that exact spot. You will need to check where your particular has the VRM's at.

This, gddr5 is usually ice cold whether or not you have a 5$ pack of heatsinks on them or a pack of 20$ heatsinks.
