Default Are these VRM temps normal?


Plotted this from a GPU-Z output for Fallout 3. It crashes under ATITool.

Everything seems to be seated correctly, I'm using an Accelero Twin Turbo, I have the VRM sinks seated like this:



Are the gaps between the heatsinks an issue, or should I look into some better cooling for my VRMs?

no they are not normal

you can screw the stock plate on AND use the accelero twin turbo at the same time

thats what im doing with my musashi


also don't know if you saw my PM but does your new 4870 buzz?

The stock plate and heat sink are all one piece on my 4870, so I can't do that

And my new 4870 doesn't buzz, at least I haven't noticed it above my Ultra Kaze

The stock fan did rattle a little though...

I just ordered some Enzotech ram sinks, mosfet sinks, and an Antec spot cool. If I still can't get it right after that then I'll have to wait for that Thermalright vrm cooler.

are you sure? the stock plate is screwed in the heatsink for every 4870/4890 i've seen/heard of

Positive, I don't have that red thing, its all one big piece of aluminum, heat pipes and all.
